The Coast Park Plan
This is a plan that, under various names, has existed since 1996 and is a plan to construct a shared bike/walking path from North Haven to Sellicks Beach. This path would extend through the almost 6Km of the City of Charles Sturt coastline that is CEPG’s main area of interest.

The impact of this project on the Estcourt House dunes and the north and south extensions would be an environmental disaster. This can be avoided by adopting the alternative plan, developed at CEPG’s cost, known as the QED Plan. Read More...

Adelaide’s Living Beaches: A Strategy for 2005-20025

Due to many factors (dune encroachment, effluent and stormwater discharge, loss of seagrass) the sand on Adelaide beaches has for many years needed to be trucked southwards in order to maintain “the beaches” as we know them for the public to use and enjoy. The trucks are not particularly aesthetic and cause disruption to the beaches.

A scheme has been proposed by the Coast Protection Branch of the Department of Environment and Heritage (South Australian Government) to replace the trucks with a permanent sand pipeline running from the breakwater at Bower Rd, Semaphore South to Kingston Park. Read More...
